CITE Research Symposium 2018 (CITERS 2018) will be held on 9 June 2018 (Saturday) at The University of Hong Kong. CITERS 2018 is organized by the Centre for Information Technology in Education of the University of Hong Kong in collaboration with the Technology-Enriched Learning Initiative (TELI), the Libraries of the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Education City (HKEdCity) and IEEE Hong Kong Section – Education Chapter (IEEE). The symposium’s main theme is:

“Engaging Learning & Empowering Change”

Education nowadays has to prepare students for jobs that have not yet been created, technologies that have not yet been invented and problems that we do not yet know will arise.  Students also need to be equipped with 21st century skills such as self-directed learning, collaborative skill, and critical problem solving skills to enable them to function as lifelong learners. With the emergence of innovative technology, it is important for us to examine how current technologies or pedagogies can provide a seamless learning environment to engage teachers’ and students’ learning and empower school and organizational change.

The following sub-themes will be explored:

  1. Adaptive learning
  2. Digital citizenship
  3. Computational thinking
  4. STEM education
  5. Technology and social change
  6. Learning design and learning analytics

The CITERS 2018 Organizing Committee is now calling for contributions from educational researchers and practitioners, including teacher educators, principals, teachers, government officers, librarians, students and graduates from education programmes, CITE members and those interested in IT and educational research.
